If you're flying out of SFO today, it might be a good day to bring your own food to the airport. Here's why.

San Francisco International Airport has advised travelers of restaurant closures spurred by a labor protest of airport food workers.

"We’re currently in contact with airport restaurant operators to get an updated count; every terminal has some outlets open, although some may have limited offerings," SFO spokesperson Doug Yakel told me. He added that it was a"very fluid as second shift takes over. Every terminal continues to have locations open, albeit some with reduced offerings."

Unite Here Local 2, the union representing SFO's food service workers, announced that 1,000 of the airport's cashiers, cooks, baristas, bartenders, servers and dishwashers were participating in the strike. The workers are employed by 84 airport restaurant outlets, all of whom are represented by the SFO Airport Restaurant Employer Council.
