By answering their mentees' questions, professionals who donate their time and expertise can often learn more about themselves, those who've done it say. They can also improve their leadership skills. The Business Journal spoke with area businesswomen about mentoring. Here's what some of them had to say about how to best start such a relationship:"It really starts with having a vested interest in the individual and knowing that you have the tools and resources to help this person. The mentor must also have the time to volunteer, so don't be afraid to ask what are the time expectations of the mentorship.
