THE haze in Seremban is probably caused by industrial plants and quarries in Nilai, said Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Aminuddin Harun. He said the state government told the Environment Department to inspect and conduct operations so the haze can be brought under control. “I have directed the DOE for the past two weeks to pay attention to this matter so it does not contribute to the worsening Air Pollutant Index . There are indeed some dusty and dry spots.
“From the expressway, we can see there is dust and haze. I also call upon the residents of this state not to create open fires near houses or gardens during this period,” he said after chairing a weekly exco meeting at Wisma Negeri today.Other districts with moderate API readings are Cheras , Banting , Tanah Merah , and Nilai , the report said. – Bernama, April 12, 2023.
