Small business owners in Ogden pushed back against the city’s plan of paid parking at a city meeting. After learning about the paid parking coming to downtown Ogden in early September, Chris Zenger, who owns Great Harvest on 25th street, changed the sign that usually advertises his business to a warning.“I need to let people know because not a lot of people know what’s going on,” Zenger said to 2News at the time.

He tried to talk about some business owners who have told him how paid parking will help their business before he was cut off by jeers from the crowd.“It’s hard to listen to, but it’s important that we listen to it,” he said. Sawyer said he understands everyone’s passion, and there’s still ongoing discussions about the plan — but he said the city needs to look out for what’s best for everyone.Zenger said it’s time for more serious action from the businesses, because if this happens, some of them, including his own, will leave Ogden.
