Its Deputy Minister Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik said that they targeted Asean because of the proximity and connectivity to Malaysia.
He said that he planned to visit South Korea to meet up with the authorities and travel agents to convince them that Malaysia was a safe place. "We were hoping to get more than 3.6 million this year but quarter one and two will be badly affected. Due to the shortfall, we have to focus on other markets," he said.
"It is not easy to cover the shortfall, but nevertheless, we have to put all our efforts to ensure business remains resilient," he said.
