Maceda joined Bain as a consultant in 1988. Amid the coronavirus pandemic, Maceda is overseeing global teams that are advising companies developing reopening plans. Marcil believes that the most successful consultants challenge traditional ways of thinking, possess a relentless curiosity where they don't stop at the first part of the answer, are strong listeners, and exhibit good sportsmanship in teamwork. "In challenging times, a leader's first instinct is often to get right down to business, especially when there are so many unknowns and so much at stake," Marcil told Business Insider. "There is no time to waste. But I don't believe you are wasting time if you are showing clients and colleagues your human side.
