Trump acknowledged that legal challenges to the order are on the horizon, saying he was "sure they'll be doing a lawsuit."
It argues that the protections hinge mainly on tech platforms operating in "good faith," and that social media companies have not. On Tuesday, Twitter applied a fact-check to two of Trump's tweets, including one that claimed, without evidence, that mail-in ballots would lead to widespread voter fraud. Trump immediately shot back, accusing the social media giant of censorship and warning that if it continued to offer addendums to his messages, he would use the power of the federal government to rein it in or even shut it down.
That is consistent with a draft order whose text CNN first reported last summer - and which prompted FCC officials to push back on the plan privately.
Who are you trying to fool Donald. Cos your not fooling us!
Running for cover yet again whilst abusing your powers!! Ars*hole!!
He can't do that, no worth the paper it is written on.
About time !!!!
Everything he did just like a 6yo kids
He just trying to make $ with this order by being able to sue tech companies that question him. 🖕
Hypocrite!
Want to defend free speech? then publicly support Julian Assange who's a) Always been truthful b) never been charged with anything c) illegally held in Super Max with terrorists on behalf of the Trump Administration
Great job 👍
100,000 coffins says it’s a distraction
The kind of bravery our left wing ABC establishment elite couldn’t comprehend.
Keep up the great work President Trump. Can’t wait for your upcoming election victory.
Bravo Donaldo!
If i were a public figure like Trump, i would fully expect to have what i posted anywhere fact checked. Who the heck does this buffoon think he is that this should not happen to him? Remember; Hitler didn’t like his words checked for factuality either.
Free speech doesn't mean you can say whatever you want without consequences.
Trump has free speech but nobody else is allowed to have it.
Americans are rioting and people are dying but he’s spent the last 3 days focussed on a Twitter post being fact checked. He’s defending his right to lie not free speech, his post was neither altered nor deleted people were simply pointed towards some actual information.
You can’t sue the phone companies for slanderous remarks made over the phone because they have no control over those. Social media companies, however, do control and monitor what is allowed on their platforms. Therefore they should be held liable just like any other publisher
