MARIKINA CITY — Twenty-nine workers at the Marikina City Public Market had tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019 , Mayor Marcelino Teodoro said Tuesday, prompting the local government to implement strict measures there to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.Teodoro said that as part of the city's "enhanced targeted testing," 2,000 public market workers were subjected to rapid testing, of whom 66 were found to be reactive.
To minimize the number of people going inside the market following the confirmed infections, the local government imposed such measures as limiting the stalls there allowed to open per day.
