|Prime Minister Scott Morrison has called for a "two-way street" between gas buyers and sellers to ensure a "competitive" and "transparent" energy market leads Australia's recovery effort out of the coronavirus pandemic. "We need a competitive market that allows for fair bargaining between gas buyers and sellers," Mr Morrison said.
Mr Morrison said the government would create the conditions for "an open and transparent trading hub" and act as "an honest broker" to match supply and demand. "We will also move immediately to extend the heads of agreement with the east coast LNG exporters and ensure they meet their end of the bargain to provide competitively priced gas to the domestic market," he said.
ScottMorrisonMP Why does the PM always rely on commodities to lift Australia, does he have no plan of his own?

PM threatens private sector with government intervention in gas market | Sky News AustraliaThe Prime Minister has threatened the private sector the government will forcibly intervene in the gas market and build a new power station in the NSW Hunter Valley unless it can come up with a plan and funding over the next seven months.\n\nScott Morrison will today call for the exploration of more gas reserves including the creation of a new gas hub in Queensland.\n\n'As we turn to our economic recovery from COVID-19, affordable gas will play a central role in re-establishing a strong economy we need for jobs growth, funding gas services and opportunities for all of us,' Mr Morrison will say in a speech.\n\nThe move is in response to the planned closure of the Liddell coal-fired power station, slated for 2023, and the significant cost it would have on Australia's energy market as the government seeks to pay down debt accrued as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia\n\n I would've made it 7 days, this has gone on for way too long Yeah, sure they will ! Morrison does a lot of talking but no one takes much notice these days. If the government were to commission a power station, it would be years away. If new legislation was required. It would not pass the senate, and never happen. How quickly Libs flick the switch to socialism when their precious market fails taxpayers again!
