One Nation’s Mark Latham says there is no point having a national energy policy when every state can just race off and do their own thing. Energy policy has been a big debate between New South Wales and the government with Prime Minister Scott Morrison set to weigh in on the states proposed new laws.
New South Wales Energy Minister Matt Kean introduced a bill to shift to renewable energy, potentially leading to the end of coal fired power generation. “We know the prime minister is no fan of Matt Kean, and Matt Kean has struck out this state-based energy policy which destabilases the national energy market,” Mr Latham told Sky News. “I’m sure the prime minister has got many concerns, not least of which is the new electricity tax in New South Wales.
