McLaren Racing has agreed to sell a third of the company to a group of United States-based investors.
"This investment bolsters our plan to return to contention for wins and championships in F1 and IndyCar," said McLaren Racing chief Zak Brown. Walsh added: "We stopped making cars because our factory was locked down. If you don't make cars, you don't sell them - and if you don't sell them, you don't get the cash flow.
"So, basically, what we tried to put in place here is a fiscally appropriate model for the group but also equip Zak and the team to go and win. And that's what I think we've accomplished." Jeff Moorad, principal of MSP, and Rodrigo Trelles Zabala of UBS O'Connor will join the McLaren Racing board as non-executive directors.
Worst thing they ever did, was to get rid of Ron Dennis. 🤬 The current Owners are Incompetent and have destroyed McLaren.
Too many little green boxes and agreements signed up to, for this country to produce or retain any industry.. just be an island of wind farms and solar cells before long!
I worry that, the UK will no longer be regarded as the place to base Motorsport with the UK government openly being 'anti motorist' and 'anti internal combusion engine' Why oh why would any racing company or car company choose the UK now? I hope Mclaren stay at Wokingham
Not been the same since the Marlboro days. A busted flush. I hope the Americans have done some due diligence.
Pity, but everything evolves over time. It won’t be long before motor racing becomes a persecuted symbol of carbon emissions. Enjoy it while you ‘ethically’ can.
NATO nations + nations w nuclear missiles were clearly targeted by Chinese bio-attack in 3 waves. Add Mexico & Brazil compete w cheap labor (or) oppose China politically. How are 3rd world nations w inferior healthcare systems (especially Africa, Asia) so untouched by covid!!!
