He said, “The music industry has helped a lot of young people move from abject poverty to wealth through their hard work. The list is endless and I must say if not for God and my music, I don’t know where I will be. “We see the rise in insecurity and my music speaks against such menace. I urge the youth to stay away from crime and drugs. Music is big business in Nigeria and across the world; and I must say, in the last 20 years, music has taken a huge number of young persons out of the street of crime, drugs, and all sorts of illegal activities.
“Music brings hope and that is why you see the likes of Wizkid and Burna Boy doing it big across the work. Davido is hugely accepted across Africa. For Nigeria, it’s a good thing because now, people know us as the giants of music.” Taking a trip down memory lane, the singer noted that his parents were a bit sceptical about his choice of music as a career path.
