When Liam Chester started up his accountancy business he worked so hard in all his waking hours that he burnt out after three years.
Liam says that when they bought the van it had nothing inside. They insulated it with foam and recycled plastic before laying wood on the ceiling and floor. They have multiple battery packs under the van and a hybrid inverter which takes power from the solar panels on the roof.Lauren and Liam have a shower inside the van which is powered by a boiler that vents to the outside through a silver tube
Liam, who works as the director of an accountancy firm, says: "We have done this for about six months now. It's been a game-changer. It started out as an experiment but it has worked so well we plan to go to France in it, for example, next year."When you are sat at home you feel guilty not to keep working in the evenings but now in the van we are right there in nature so it's much easier to walk away and to switch between work and personal life.
Then at the end of 2019 he found he was just staring at his computer screen unable to function. He could not sleep despite feeling exhausted.
Longwinded non event of a story...
Twitter truly is a cesspit. Amazing, inspiring story. It takes dedication to find something negative to say about it but clearly some of you manage it before crawling back into the primordial sludge you dwell in. I on the other hand will buy a camper van! 😀
