The advice was given by the Deputy Controller, Nigeria Correctional Services, Bauchi State Command, Musa Dauda Doguwa, shortly after the just concluded routine quarterly inmates review exercise.
Doguwa, who informed that he had worked in various correction centres across the country, including those in Kano, Kaduna, Katsina, Jigawa, and Niger, said he observed that Bauchi correction centre was dominated mostly by vibrant youths whose ages ranged between 18 and 25 years. He lamented that most of the youth on the streets in the North do not want to undergo formal educational training, but rather prefer devising dubious means of making quick money.
“Go to all our higher educational institutions here up North, the students’ population is 75 per cent dominated by Southerners. They have filled up such institutions in their domains, and are here to dominate ours.
