The daughter of the first US astronaut, Alan Shepard, has blasted into space - 60 years after her father's flight.
The flight was the third launched by Blue Origin in 2021 as it seeks to capture the space tourism market. It marked the first time that Blue Origin had filled all six seats on its New Shepard rocket, which is named after the eponymous astronaut.
The article states this was 116 miles shorter than Alan Shepard's 1961 flight...wrong.. his flight reached 116.5 miles apogee, the New Shepard 62 miles apogee..
Suffer_Till_End Why do you give this the oxygen of publicity? There is no reason for people to go into space. We’re trying to save the planet and they’re making it much more difficult.
