According to the National Institute of Communicable Diseases , the figure reflects a 27.2% positivity rate, taking into account the 43 160 tests conducted in the same reporting period. 84 people lost their lives to the virus bringing the total South African COVID-19 death toll to 91 145.The majority of new cases on FRiday are from Western Cape , followed by Kwa-Zulu Natal .
