The ordinance was signed by Mayor Tobias “Toby” Tiangco on Monday, Jan. 31, during the regular session of the City Council of Navotas City.
The deadline was extended to give ample time to the city’s taxpayers to accomplish their payments now that Metro Manila is under Alert Level 2 from Feb. 1 to Feb. 15. The city government previously moved the deadline of the renewal process from Jan. 20 to Jan. 31 due to the spike in coronavirus disease cases since the start of the year.
However, the ordinance noted that only 60 percent of the people were able to renew their business permits and licenses.Payments may also be accomplished in-person at the Navotas Business One-Stop Shop, which is open from Monday to Friday at 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
