Finance manager fined for using NRICs of clients to redeem face masks

The new reusable masks will be available for collection from vending machines placed at community centres from 26 May to 14 June 2020.

Pantila Pakemethanan, a Thai national, pleaded guilty to two charges of illegally obtaining personal information and cheating. Another two charges were considered for her sentencing. However, she accessed the database to copy five NRIC numbers belonging to clients of Japanese nationality but are Singapore permanent residents, copying the information on a piece of paper.Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Temasek Foundation had announced in September 2020 a nationwide face mask distribution, in which all Singapore residents were entitled to a free pair of reusable face masks.

In February 2021, Temasek Foundation announced another round of nationwide mask distribution through their vending machines.
