The city of San Diego’s nonprofit and small business relief fund distributed $12 million since launching in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
"These micro-grants are designed to provide a stronger ecosystem of support for small businesses in under resourced communities," said San Diego Mayor Todd Gloria. "These organizations helped to make sure these dollars flowed to where they were most needed," Gloria said."Where they were overlooked."The San Diego Foundation provided $2 million and city-used federal COVID-19 relief funds from the American Rescue Plan to make up the other $10 million.
