Years ago, Zink was working on the trading floor for a bank, keenly aware that as a woman she was a minority which made it tough to get ahead. When she did, she found a way to give back by becoming a role model for other women to see they can also bypass whatever stands in their way if they are armed with the right skills, passion and support.Article content
In the field of finance, where Zink lives, women face barriers that can derail or delay their career plans. Much comes down to an unconscious bias that isn’t exclusive to that field but an issue that needs to be addressed wherever it exists, Zink said.That is something women founders do by demanding equality and clearing hurdles to achieve their entrepreneurial goals.
“I think, in Canada there is a growing movement of women supporting women,” Zink said. “The women who have had tremendous success as entrepreneurs in Canada have really set an incredible example for young women and students aspiring to be entrepreneurs.”Article content
