The Commissioner for Insurance, Sunday Thomas, has urged insurance agents to be good ambassadors of the industry as they interface between the industry and society.
He spoke during the annual general meeting of ARIAN where new executives were elected to direct the affairs of the agents.The commissioner, who was represented by the Principal Manager, Licensing & Regulation Intermediaries, NAICOM, Mrs Vera Aimufua, urged the public to only patronise registered and licensed insurance agents.
The commission, he said, would continue to support the agents, who he identified as the foot soldiers of the industry. At the event, new executives were elected and Odewunmi Kazeem of Mutual Benefits Assurance Plc emerged as the new president of ARIAN.
