Scores of holidaymakers are expected to drive back to Gauteng on Monday as the Easter long weekend comes to an end.
Gauteng Traffic Police Spokesperson Obed Sibasa says they are expecting high traffic volumes starting from noon. “We urge road users to adhere to the rules of the road. Also be mindful of the bad weather conditions. Roads are wet, slippery and some are flooded. Reduce speed and keep a safe following distance. Promote daylight driving with headlights on to increase visibility. Avoid flooded roads and take rest breaks every 2 hours or 200 km. Do not drink and drive. Do not speed, speed kills.”
They will do better getting seen and directing the traffic at areas in need of patrolling.
