Photograph: Mick Tsikas/AAPPhotograph: Mick Tsikas/AAPhe first week of the campaign was dominated by two numbers: 4% and 0.1%, the unemployment and cash rate figures Anthony Albanese couldn’t remember. The next few weeks could be dominated by another number: 5.1%, the steepest inflation rate rise since the introduction of the GST.
Anthony Albanese will be keen to get out of Covid isolation tomorrow night, and prosecute that argument on the road himself. The Labor leader, on day 6, confirmed to Studio 10while holed up at home, sheepishly laughing off Studio 10 questions about whether he was “business up top, party down the bottom”.
There’s 24 days of this campaign left. The second half really starts tomorrow, with Albanese back on the road, and no doubt looking to make up for lost time.Morrison started the day in Rockhampton with a coffee with seniors, a speech to the Capricornia Chamber of Commerce, and a press conference where he publicly slapped down Nationals’ senator Matt Canavan over net zero. Starting in the seat of Capricornia he then nipped to the Cairns seat of Leichhardt to visit an aviation firm.
Albanese gave some radio interviews from the backyard of his Marrickville command centre. Deputised in his place were a team of Labor shadow ministers. Jason Clare and Amanda Rishworth campaigning in Sydney with candidate for Reid , Sally Sitou, who Labor thinks has a good chance of winning.unveiled the party’s long-awaited policy on multinational tax
So Albanese was sheepish in response to question was he wearing trousers? Maybe he was embarrassed that he'd agreed to be interviewed by a puerile fool masquerading as a journalist. Maybe Studio 10 confused Albanese with Malcolm Fraser?
Only Albo can control world markets 😂😂😂 Nothing to do with lockdown & the policies that the media cheered for. Maybe Albo can just print so more money & give it out like popcorn, that will help.
