MORTON, Pennsylvania -- An increasing number of municipalities are passing laws to prevent predatory towing to protect consumers.
The company is owned by Tom McGarrigle, a former state senator and current chair of the Delaware County Republican Party. Chief Graeff tells Action News changes are in order after two vehicles were towed on March 17 following an accident at the intersection of Sproul and Springfield roads in Broomall.
"We've never had a complaint and they're always been great to and for us, to the people as we know. Maybe it was an oversight," said Chief Graeff. That invoice also had a line item charge for labor, this time for $100 which, again, isn't allowed. Since the questionable tow bills, Gentile says the township plans to begin performing audits of all duty tows but it does not plan to do audits for prior years.
Relentless murder and violence plaguing the city while city leaders diligently war against violent non inclusive language and ABC devotes resources to an investigation about one tow company. Would be less ridiculous if the predatory industry as a whole was explored. SMH.
Holy smokes. Is this the oppo material? Why is the township not checking their invoices for completeness and accuracy? What other costs are taxpayers funding as a result of lacking financial controls in Marple? I think the township needs some financial oversight.
