The Prime Minister said the Cabinet had not discussed the matter as the proposal was only recently submitted by Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar."We have not discussed it in detail in the Cabinet. It has not yet been scheduled to be discussed at the Cabinet meeting this Wednesday," he said after launching the World Environment Day 2022 celebration at Taman Tugu Negara here on Sunday .

"We cannot just listen to my views alone, the Cabinet means all ministers. We will discuss the details later among the Cabinet," he said. Wan Junaidi on Friday said under the proposed amendments to the Houses of Parliament Act 1952, MPs facing charges in court will be barred from attending parliamentary sittings.

He said they would also be barred from all other activities in both the Dewan Rakyat and Dewan Negara. He added that the amendment which the Cabinet had agreed to in principle was still being refined to suit developments and existing rules of the Dewan Rakyat.
