The long-time lawyer of Ross Lyon says the experienced AFL coach would be a good fit for Essendon but is “pretty happy” working in the business and media world.
President David Barham, who is leading the coaching hunt along with football department boss Josh Mahoney, has made it clear. Lyon had 13 combined seasons with St Kilda and Fremantle, reaching four grand finals, including the drawn epic of 2010. However, it’s been three seasons since Lyon was ousted at Fremantle, and he has since become ensconced in the property and AFL commentary worlds.
“The game of football changes and people adapt to different strategies and people adapt to different strengths and weaknesses that the group may have,” he said.Gdanski is a former St Kilda director who was on the board both when Lyon joined and left the club.Lyon had initially been in the running for the Carlton coaching job last year
