A recent rash of double entendre, cheeky or controversial business names is stirring debate in a state smack dab in the middle of America’s “Bible Belt.'

He recalled being interviewed by a “shock jock” radio show in Seattle whose hosts “wanted to make fun” of the situation “more than anything else.”

“Back , no one joined me ,” Powell said. “But these guys on the beach, 20 years later, we are of like mind.”Karen Hopkins, a marketing expert, and lecturer at Auburn University’s Harbert College of Business, said she can sympathize with public officials like Kennon who are attempting to defend and promote their communities as safe havens from inappropriate words or activities.

Joe Godfrey, a consultant, and former head of the conservative Alabama Citizens’ Action Group said that controversial business names were “reflective of a decline of our cultural standards” that he said Christian leaders have been complaining about for a long time. “We’re becoming more desensitized to what is rude, crude and vulgar,” Kennon said. “I don’t want to have to explain what ‘Bad Ass’ means to my 8-year-old. I asked someone the other day on if added a byline under that said, ‘The best Mother F’ing coffee in the world’ and whether they would be OK with that. Who draws the line and how do you draw the line?”

As compared to the titty bar in Homewood don’t think it’s that bad

People not being able to get unemployment timely should receive the discussions. Not this.

grow a pair of balls its cool as shit fuckers

I bet more disgusting words come out of these dudes’ mouths daily. Why do they insist on controlling people? If you find the name too off-putting, then don’t patron the place; let others decide for themselves. I bet they have bad ass coffee. I would try it.

It's not only Alabama ,it's every state because people have no morals or no class in today's world.

The church is in its death throes and I'm glad I get to live through it

So laughable from a state filled with racists and bigots that disenfranchise voters and marginalize minorities because that's the real vulgarity in this state.

I can't support such an immoral establishment

Let people express themselves. It makes it easier to decide who you want to be around.

Was on a ride with my wife yesterday and there was a “Fuck Biden” flag hung over the front door of a decent house in a good neighborhood on a somewhat busy road. I love the word fuck, don’t get me wrong, but c’mon man!

Seeing butthurt 'Christian conservative' politicians outraged at this makes me want to spend money there.

Aren’t the Christians the ones that label/nickname people “slutty,” “whore,” etc? Labeling people bad stereotypes is a very Christian thing.

Nobody gonna mention the Fuzzy Taco?…cute names will get butts in the door but it takes a lot more to keep them coming back. Prime example: Hooters. Time will tell for these.

A recent rash .......

General rule: if the bible belt crowd is offended, it's a good thing

Southern Baptists clutching their pearls about Coffee Shop names while their kids get SA by pedos in the church.

You mean the same Bible Belt that has had adult stores all over?

Alabama is the most backassward, ignorant state in the Union. It would be last in education, but luckily people are moving here from other states.

I wouldn't eat there, but to each his own.

Alabama has real problems. This ain't it. If you're worried about legitimate issues facing Alabamians we would direct you to

Mobilian here. Sunday church crowd passing by the WOW and clutching their pearls, crying, 'What about the children!' Worried about the 'slippery slope' of a mediocre hotdog restaurant using a low-hanging fruit dick joke for their name...Really just need to check their priorities

Um…from what I’ve seen and heard from the last decade living in Alabama, that “Bible Belt” is only worn on Sunday. It gets hung up right after church and only brought out the next Sunday or when someone is trying to “dress the part” of a Christian.

Hmm something abt free speech and letting the market decide…

That belt will tan your hide for talking like that.

This gentleman is offended.

I won’t support their business, but it’s your right to support them if you please.

It may be bad taste, but it is free speech. Don't like it, don't spend money there. For example, I don't spend money at businesses that objectify female servers. That's my choice. Just go about yo' bidniss and put it out of your mind.

But the 'F&%K Joe Biden Flags' on the back of trucks going up and down 98 is ok? Or the giant nutsacks hanging from trailer hitches? Ok....

This is 100% Freedom of Speech. Remember the Florida man who had a sticker on his truck “ I Eat Ass” and was stopped by the feelings Police? Yeah, completely Unconstitutional and illegal. Violated the man’s rights

Pretty damn sure there are curse words in the bible. Alabama needs to get over its self.

Alabama is such a stupid, stupid place 🤣🤣🤣
