A community in mourning came together Sunday to honor the life and legacy of an Everett business owner and motherFriends, family and strangers gathered in Everett on Sunday for a vigil — lighting candles, leaving flowers and stuffed animals, and sharing comforting moments in remembrance of Irah Sok.
Sok lost her life last Friday when three men burst into her Everett home and shot her while her 6-year-old son and husband were inside. Those responsible for her death have not been caught, but community members told KIRO 7 they hope this vigil will show that they’re not giving up. “We just want to come together as a community to let the family know that they can rest assured we’re not going to let this go, and there needs to be justice served for Irah and the community wants answers,” said Sarah Mitchell, a friend of Sok. “And there’s been so much violence lately, every day you hear about somebody who’s been murdered or shot and we just can’t stand for this any longer.”
This is why I no longer read KIRO articles. 0 information, only enough to make you keep reading and maybe press an ad or two on the way down. Ads galore.Even KOMO doesn't have that many ads. And it's all ads from disreputable sources instead of local ads. itsallaboutthebenjamins
This article is confusing. Was anything taken from the home? Were her husband and son harmed? Do they have any idea about potential motive? For example are they thinking they broke in solely to shoot her? Is there any surveillance footage?
Her photography was incredible. I don't feel the local journalists are doing enough to discover why anyone would have shot this lady in her home.
Very fishy. This one is going to be a Dateline episode.
