Walmart is ramping up its expansion of health clinic concepts in Florida during 2023, including in Jacksonville.
The Bentonville, Arkansas-based retail giant plans to open 16 Walmart Health clinics in Florida, including three in Jacksonville, by fall 2023.The expansion likely will add medical jobs in the long term and construction activity in the short term, creating opportunities for contractors and vendors. Walmart Health locations are in the same building as the Walmart Supercenter and offer services like primary and urgent care, labs, X-ray imaging, behavioral health, dental, hearing services and optometry. They often are roughly 6,000-7,000 square feet.11900 Atlantic Boulevard, Unit 1Other Florida locations will include six in metro Orlando and one each in Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg, Zephyrhills, Plant City, Lutz, Hudson and New Port Richey.
“As the population in Florida continues to grow at more than double the rate of the rest of the United States, so does the need to increase access to quality health care,” Dr., senior vice president of Omnichannel Care Offerings at Walmart, said in a prepared statement. “With these 16 new Walmart Health centers across the state, even more Floridians will have easy access to a wide range of high-quality health services at convenient hours and easy-to-understand prices.
