Germany is working on a new China strategy that takes a more sober view of relations and aims to reduce dependence on Asia's economic superpower, which has been the country's top trading partner since 2016.
"Decoupling our economy from the Chinese market would not be in the interest of jobs in Germany," Lindner was quoted as saying by the Welt am Sonntag newspaper. What about 'decoupling' from Russia? How is that going? They seem to not be suffering too much from the 'sanctions' and continue to be able to finance their war in the Ukraine. Why isn't the EU imposing tougher sanctions?
Why decoupling from China? Follow US order? China poses no threat to Germany but a good trade partner instead. US fears China's growth as a threat to its hegemony & hence start a cold war. Germany has no reason & shouldn't follow US to hurt your own economic/political interests.
