Thubisi stated in his affidavit that he was instructed to leave the Nulane documentation with Moorosi, the then head of department, which he did. He testified, however, that he took the documents to Dhlamini. He now says he is confused and can't remember whose office he took it to.Thubisi confirms that he said his senior, a Mr Mofokeng, had bought him certain documents for the purposes of compiling the Nulane payment. He is now struggling to recall what these documents actually were.
Thubisi says this was given to him by another official as part of the payment process. Serunye asks if the document was a copy or an original? Thubisi responds that he believes it was an original.Thubisi has testified about the R5 million or R4 million payment to Nulane. Unusually, Serunye asks Thubisi to stop pre-empting his questions and later says he will stop questioning him about a particular document, because he keeps saying he's unsure about it.We resume.
The state is leading this evidence to establish that the copied documents that they have are authentic and should be admitted as evidence.Motshumi confirms that her signature is on one of the documents capturing that a payment had been made.Testifying in relation to the Nulane payments, Motshumi says she received an envelope with an invoice inside. She is not sure who she got this from, it may have been her supervisor.
