The organisation says Ramaphosa is not fulfilling his duty as the leader of the country. It says escalating loadshedding is placing increased pressure on ageing and under-maintained systems, and this threatens the right of millions of South Africans from accessing safe, sufficient and reliable water.
Commenting on the budget speech on Wednesday, Amnesty International says the 2023 budget falls short of actually outlining how the government will safeguard human rights in face of turbulent times and corruption. Executive Director of Amnesty International South Africa Shennila Mohammed says, “The fact that we have to bail out these state owned enterprises is really because of the mismanagement of the state. And one of the things we say consistently is that the buck ends with Cyril Ramaphosa. He is the man in charge who has been put by the people in charge of this country, and he is failing us consistently.
“What we would have liked to see in the budget is an increase in healthcare facilities, the majority of people in this country do not have access to quality health care. We see education, we see pit latrines that continue to be a danger to our children in schools and let’s not forget gender-based-violence,” added Mohammed.
Human rights have never existed in S.A where do you folks suck these bullshit story's from ,We've never been a democratic society either
The reason we have incompetent SAPS and High criminality is that we have corrupt SAPS leadership and our Police are introduced to corruption right at the door of recruitment by paying bribes to become employed and they live with that culture throughout their careers in the force.
Correct!!!!
That is the truth and nothing but the truth.
You don’t say!?!?🙄
