We are empowering team members to make an impact. The diversity councils that we have in place are implementing DEI strategies and tactics at a local level. They’re nimble and able to quickly adapt to meet the needs of fellow team members.Experiences — for customers and team members — matter. For example, companies that prioritize team member experiences have higher customer loyalty and perform better across a host of measures.
How important is a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce to your company’s success, and how do you keep that at the forefront? It is foundational. I championed the Board of Trustees endorsing the system’s first DEI Commitment statement and two focus areas with metrics. Having metrics in place means it is more than aspirational, and it’s a way to measure progress.
