Our private sector increasingly acquired stakes in US public governance, enabling it to make sure our politicians hew to corporate agendas. That never ended. Just the opposite of what China has begun. Both suck. Solution: democracy.

Actually in our country I would say it’s the opposite. Where our Government is “for the people and our protection”. Corporations are buying our leaders out, so that a smaller percentage are protected.
