A consultation about a proposed route of the East West Rail line closed in June 2021
Hilary Chipping, the Chief Executive of the South East Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership , said it was "absolutely great news".The £5bn East-West Rail project aims to connect Oxford and Cambridge, via Bletchley near Milton Keynes and Bedford.Image caption,She said the route would mean Cambridge businesses could expand to places like Milton Keynes and Bedford.
"It's about linking local communities and linking businesses and opening up skills and talent to encourage that economic growth and inward investment."MP Richard Fuller believes local transportation should be prioritised over East-West Rail
bullsh*t, privatisation is about investors nothing else. nationalise our railways, it's long overdue.
These people are lucky, we in Lowestoft doesn't even have direct trains to the Capital, even though greater anglia promised them..According to our mp who spoke on Tv, Takes almost the same time to get to ipswich from here as it did when the line opened in 1859!. progress eh?
And the North just continues to look on and wonder why it never gets the same level of investment.
I wouldn't hold your breath. After God knows how long, we're still waiting for Northern Powerhouse Rail 🙄😂
