Councillor Cathy Hinton addresses those who attended last year’s Art Acquisition Show opening at McCarthy Hall. FileTRURO, N.S. — There is still time for local artists to get involved with this year’s holding of theStarted in 2016 as an “effort to create and maintain a collection of visual art which reflects the unique historic and artistic development of Truro,” COVID interrupted the program for a couple of years before it made a grand return last spring.
This year the categories are ‘paintings’ and ‘all other mediums,’ and more information and application forms can be found at www.truro.ca/programs-and-events.html#ArtAcquisition.Hinton said application forms can also be picked up at the recreation office on Douglas Street or by contacting her directly.
Hinton said while the posted deadline for submission is March 24, there is a little bit of time beyond then for a few late entrees, so artists should inquire.
