The Malaysian Employers Federation said employers must ensure there is no discrimination at the workplace and all employees must be treated fairly.
PETALING JAYA: Employers must ensure that salaries and benefits are in line with the market rate, says Malaysian Employers Federation president Syed Hussain Syed Husman. The salaries must also match the risks, responsibility and accountability of the jobs, he said in a statement today to mark Labour Day.“There must be no discrimination at the workplace and all employees must be treated fairly and equitably.”Syed Hussain Syed Husman.
Syed Hussain said employers also need to provide a career progression structure so that long-term career progression is more visible.“We must ensure that our employees are well-trained and skilled to do their jobs.Syed Hussain said employees, on their part, were expected to follow the requirements of the organisation they are working in and it was imperative for industrial peace and harmony to be maintained to enable the nation to progress.
“In this regard, MEF would like to thank employees and their trade unions for the understanding and cooperation displayed during the Covid-19 pandemic,” he added.
