So they aren’t already sucking enough money out of the patients and their insurance $600 for a flipping BANDAID?!? Oh-please!!
Absolutely. And the patient's info ie zip code etc lets them estimate how much they can donate. Some hosp have sent letters to the pts docs letting them know how much their pts can donate. Medicare for all!!
“Nonprofit hospitals across the United States are seeking donations from the people who rely on them most: their patients. WOW! Try to stay healthy. I read up on AUTOPHAGY & Intermitent Fasting... Cell regeneration may help prolong your life.
Thanks!
So now gratitude is being monetized! I swear to, (no deity in particular), the next thing you know we're going to be charged for the air we breath.
People do not realize that there is NO MONEY in health care. It is a service not a commodity. The places of excellence barely survive on donor bequests. Even in Canada new facilities are largely the result of benefactors not the govt.
How many wealthy people use such hospitals...?!
Begging for dollars Americans here too neighbors
That's revolting.
It’s a shame really that a hospital had to resort to this in order to get more funding. But no, spend more money in an arms race or a stupid wall.
HIPPA HIPPA HIPPA
This sounds shady af. Why does it seem like NBC news is trying to spin this in to a good thing? Hospitals are targeting people they believe to be “grateful” for service and then pressuring them to donate money?
I believe that this is the best of capitalism. No, really!
Nationwide, donations to hospitals exceeded $10.4 billion in 2017, according to the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy. (2/8)
If I was wealthy I would participate. I suffer from a mental stigma and I'm trying to find stable housing and get back to school in Chicago. It's almost impossible. I suffer from bi polar and depression and live in the west Englewood neighborhood
This is unethical as hell
