The recent former head of Victoria’s Property Council, Danni Hunter, warns that the state’s business lobby groups have been captured in a cosy club which emasculates their ability to criticise the Andrews Labor government.
The Property Council of Australia’s former Victorian executive director, Danni Hunter, says the state’s lobby groups are too dependent on governments.Ms Hunter, who stood down as CEO last year after allegedly making a racially insensitive remark during the organisation’s annual gala event, said the relationship between the state Labor government and lobby groups had become too dependent.
Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief Paul Guerra is seen as the “go to man” for the Victorian government consulting with business.Ms Hunter previously worked for former Victorian Liberal leader Matthew Guy and replaced Cressida Wall, who was appointed chief executive of the government’s Projects Victoria and had worked for former Labor premiers Steve Bracks and John Brumby and state Treasurer Tim Pallas.
