With the Philippine Coconut Authority celebrating its 50th anniversary this week, it is timely to identify three crucial initiatives that will uplift the coconut industry and our farmers.

The 2003 Biofuels Act mandates that CME should constitute 5 percent of diesel by 2020. Today, CME level is still at 2 percent.
