The remodels started a little over a year ago and so far 32 stores have been remodeled, Eric Van der Valk, chief operating officer for Ollie’s, said on a recent earnings call. The remodels cost between $125,000 and $200,000, according to Van der Valk.
Ollie’s officials said that inflation costs have increased how much people pay for food and other everyday items and the remodel gave the retailer an opportunity to increase display space for these items. As for future remodels, “We’ll continue to look at the results, and see how will move through this,” Van der Valk said. “We would think we would probably commit to a similar number for 2024.”
In addition to those three stores, 12 other locations in Pennsylvania have been remodeled in Indiana , Cressona, Clearfield, Wilkes-Barre, Shillington, Horsham, Altoona, Bell Vernon, Erie, New Castle, Scranton and State College areas.
