Money for jam: Maggie Beer in talks to sell out of food business for $10 million | pwhatch

Australian cooking icon Maggie Beer has agreed to sell the remaining stake in her eponymous food produce brand for $10 million, in a deal that will bring to an end her ownership of a culinary empire built over more than 40 years.

“The Maggie Beer team has successfully managed costs to create a profitable, sustainable business with a very "We are currently finalising negotiations to acquire the remaining 52 per cent of the equity in this business that Longtable does not already own, and bring the brand firmly into our portfolio."

The relationship with supermarkets has been challenging at times, with sales dented after Maggie Beer Ice Cream was pulled from Woolworths' shelves in 2017.
