A former banker who managed loan accounts worth billions of euro has told how he turned his back on the high life to make a low-budget film exposing its dark heart.
The 38-year-old told the Irish Mirror: “I was dealing with people who had between €10million and €15million in borrowings, that was normal in the Celtic Tiger days.“But I was able to borrow the money again by that afternoon.“But I went home one Christmas and just stayed in my room crying.” The Limit Of, which lead actress Sarah Carroll received an IFTA nomination, tells the story of a banker who lives alone and looks after his widowed mother.
“The film is about someone pushed to the limit of their greed, their desire, their debt. I think there are current issues that a lot of people will relate to.” Production suffered another serious blow when Anthony, once voted Mayo Footballer Of The year, was diagnosed with a brain tumour and underwent two surgeries.
