Badrul said the management of the main bazaar was handed over to a company, whose owner is linked to an MP in Melaka."How did the state government allow such a significant bazaar to be contracted to a company where it's proprietor has strong political connections to a local MP?" he asked.
Badrul, who sent a copy of the letter to The Star on Saturday , wants the Melaka Historic City Council to explain why the management of the bazaar wasn't handed over to"MBMB has prohibited other companies from managing smaller-scale bazaars, for example at Lot 12018, Klebang, but allowed this company to manage the main bazaar. This has created doubts among the locals," he said on Saturday .
Furthermore, he said the rental of each lot was exorbitant, forcing traders to sell their items at a more expensive price. "MACC should investigate who are the individuals behind the approval of the main bazaar at Klebang," he added.
