This is a new low, they put my 2 years old 2 rows away us on his own on the flights from London to Sydney, and I had to ask people to move change seats so I could be next to my kid.

I would give something to keep him or her happy such a refund or first class trip for 2 people to enjoy and forget the uncomfortable flight. Once I tried British Airways it is one of the beast.
