After five drug manufacturers, including Johnson & Johnson, reached settlements leading up to the trial, it became clear that the focus would be largely on the behavior of the distributors. Opening arguments were scheduled to begin Monday in U.S. District Court in Cleveland for the case involving claims bought by the Ohio counties of Cuyahoga and Summit.
The trial was to be a test case for legal issues involved in thousands of lawsuits brought against players in the opioid industry by state and local governments, Native American tribes, hospitals and other entities. The lawsuits also alleged that drugmakers improperly marketed opioids to prescribers, overselling the benefits and understating the risks of a class of drugs that has been known for centuries to be addictive.

So how many years did they get for the opioid deaths? I mean that actor Felicity Huffman got 10 days in prison and yet nobody died from her crime.
Why can they settle? Why arent they thrown in jail and all of their assetts taken. They have caused hundreds of thousands of deaths. Never mind, the tremendous amount of money spent on rehabs and funerals all over this country. This is a criminal matter.
Tell me when the government settles about the crack epidemic
Does this mean big pharma will pay for pain management & specialists services?
Don’t do it! Go to trial! Don’t back down now!
how many drugmakers will go to prison for manslaughter?
When do we sue the Dumbasses users?
So if Corporations are People. Does that mean the board of directors can face Global consequences for murder? Ya didn't think so
However much it is, it's not enough.
