Single women are losing out in the housing market whether they are buying or selling thanks to the gender gap in negotiation. (via CNBCMakeIt)

That has serious implications for a woman's finances overall: Housing wealth accounts for the majority of most households' wealth in the U.S., per Shue and Goldsmith-Pinkham, with Americans investing more in the housing market than in stocks.

The researchers say this isn't necessarily because women are less sophisticated negotiators, but rather because they are penalized for "leaning in" and negotiating at all.. Our culture "may expect that women are more willing to share the pie and share the surplus from negotiation." Another important strategy is to research comparable listing prices and match them, as women tend to list their houses for less than men do, on average.

MakeIt Anyone who believes this FakeNews bullshit from BSNBC deserves to lose out.

MakeIt Clickbait bullshit.

MakeIt Uh, every women I know is a cut throat negotiator. My clients were gallery owners, interior designers, builders, curators. This seems silly.

MakeIt I would say the “problem” is more about training and passing on these type of skills rather than simply gender. But, whatever, they are the experts...

MakeIt An obvious conspiracy to hurt single women. /sarcasm

MakeIt How sexist. Are you saying women are poor negotiators?

MakeIt ... or is it that single parent households are at a clear economic disadvantage?

Single-payer system could save US $600 billion in administrative costs - Business InsiderA shift toward a single-payer Medicare For All system in US healthcare could be a potential balm to the system's current admin cost crisis. Al who? I doubt that. In areas where the government is involved, in healthcare and education for example, prices have gone through the roof. Where there is minimal to no government involvement, in tech for example, value has increased dramatically and prices have stayed low.
