PETALING JAYA: The government has expressed its commitment to recovering the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) assets and is having discussions with Goldman Sachs this week on the matter, says the Ministry of Finance.

Its minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz said that senior representatives from Goldman Sachs had flown into Malaysia this week to “continue discussions and negotiations with the government”.

“We hope these discussions will prove to be fruitful and will enable us to move closer towards achieving the desired results on the recovery of the 1MDB assets, ” he said in a statement on Monday .
