Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, said this while addressing stakeholders at a one-day workshop on sports development in Edo at the Government House, Benin City.His words: “The advent of the present administration under the visionary leadership of Governor Godwin Obaseki, has changed the sports narrative in Edo with strategic policies to improve sporting activities.“Development of the sports sector is one of the major thematic pillars of this administration.
“We are committed to restoring her lost glory in sporting excellence. Our determination to make Edo great again, as far as sports is concerned, is a mission that we are resolved to actualise.” Shaibu said through government’s right policies in the sports sector and private sector support, the state would generate employment for its youths and create sustainable livelihoods for the people.
