The airline industry is a significant producer of the greenhouse gases that cause climate change. Yet airlines tout green credentials that hardly mitigate their emissions.

A group of almost 300 airlines have committed to ‘net zero’ carbon emissions by 2050, but just how are they going to get there? WSJ’s George Downs explores some of the methods the International Air Transport Association has suggested for emissions reduction.
